I know I’ve been slightly incognito (and I say slightly because I’m still around), but I wanted to update my fam on what’s been going on. If you couldn’t tell by the post title and the first couple of sentences: I am a doula!
What is a Doula?
Traditionally, a doula is a woman who provides assistance to a woman during childbirth and who may also provide support to the family after the baby is born.
These days, families don’t look “traditional”, so naturally the scope of practice changes. I offer emotional, physical and educational support to people during their fertility, pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journeys.
Becoming a Doula
Back in May, I announced that I would be pursuing my doula certification! I shared this on my Instagram and Facebook pages:
“The dopest thing I’ve done this year? Pursuing my doula certification! From the public school classroom to rooms filled with naturalistas + now the birthing room, I’ve always had a passion for energizing others to live their lives on their own terms.
Now, I am able to provide support to women on their respective birth journeys🤰🏾+ motherhood journeys🤱🏾🍼👶🏾 by offering emotional, physical + educational support.
I can definitely say my own journey into motherhood was the spark💥 that ignited the flame 🔥 + my passion has engulfed me; morphed me into who I am + where I am now. It is nothing short of an honor to serve women in this capacity + I am forever grateful for those who encouraged me along the way. Here’s to constantly learning, growing, evolving + serving 💜”
Since then, I have trained and I am in a certification program working toward becoming a Certified Birth Doula.
Doula to Others
Since the big announcement, I have officially started my own business, Doula to Others. I provide support and assistance to those on their conception, pregnancy, and parenting journeys.
My goal as a doula is to help you find peace and tap into your confidence to make the best decisions for your journey.
I have a passion for helping all who desire to conceive, birth and/or explore parenthood, especially people of color who statistically are dying during pregnancy + childbirth at four times the rate of white women.

Though I am locally based in Denver, I extend my services beyond by providing virtual support as a Digital Doula.
