I am so blessed, y’all.

I have a family that I can depend on when I need them and vice versa.  How many people can actually say that?  It’s definitely something I don’t take for granted.
I am a daughter.  My parents and I have such a beautiful relationship.  They allowed for me to be who I wanted to be and not who they wanted for me to be and for that, I thank them tremendously.  They introduced me to God by not just taking me to church regularly, but by reading His Word in the house daily.  We are so candid with one another (one of the best aspects of our relationship) and though I may joke with them, I still honor them as my parents.  It’s so beautiful, guys.
I am a sister.  My brothers and I are very close.  I’m not talking close like we are all in each other’s business running one another’s lives – no.  That’s overbearing.  We are connected.  We have a spiritual connection that is rare but means so much.  We always know when to check up on one another and it’s unspoken that we have one another’s backs at all times.  Being the only girl (and the baby) definitely has its perks… I love those men.
I am a wife.  My husband is truly a God send.  I love that man with all of my being and I know we both bring added value to one another’s lives.  We love hard and laugh even harder.  My confidant and my friend, he is.
I am an aunt.  I am a niece.  I am a cousin.  I’m a caregiver/mother to my doggies…
See the puppy kisses about to take place? Ahhhh… I’m blushing so hard writing this.  I wear so many dag on hats!
But with all of these roles comes great responsibility.  I never underestimate the power of the relationship or the role I play in my family.  There have been times where I felt I haven’t been “the best”, but I always remember that in that moment in time I was my best.  And you know what? They make me better.  That is something I can always appreciate.  Whether I am that voice of reason or the one who makes you laugh, I have a purpose in my family.  I will always remember that.

Here’s to being better than the day before and to remembering: I serve as a source of inspiration and unconditional love for my family. I am valued.
