Self Love Project

Self Love Project 2018 | Day 29

So far, I’ve completed 29 days of the self love project, a day longer than what I achieved back in 2014 when I initially started it.

I’m celebrating the small victories, folks.  I’m incredibly grateful that I made it this far on my self love journey for 2018 and I’ll just take it day by day from here.

Today’s Affirmation

Forgive and forget.

Well it’s true.

You see, forgiveness isn’t for the person who wronged you, it’s for yourself.  You have to forgive in order to have peace.  Forgiveness allows for us to move on with our lives, holding us and only us accountable for emotions and actions.

I forgive others so that I may stay in a place where peace resides.

I’ve seen the quote floating around: if it costs me my peace, it isn’t for me.  If holding that grudge costs me my peace, I release it.  Nothing is worth more than my peace.  My peace is priceless.

Lastly, I’ve done some pretty fucked up things in my life (excuse the language, it’s for emphasis).  If I can forgive myself, why can’t I forgive someone else?

I’ve written more on forgiveness in a previous post.  You can read it here.

Self Care

Sitting down with hubby tonight and we’re gonna reflect on our goals, assess our progress so far, and create a plan of action to move forward.  This is what self care looks like.
