Self Love Project 2018 | Day Nine

Today’s Affirmation

I am happy in my own skin.

I am unequivocally and profoundly happy in my own skin.  Period.

I own, love, and appreciate my blackness.

And because I am a unique being and there is NO ONE like me in this world, I appreciate that, too.

From the single strand knots in my natural hair, to my unshaven legs, down to my unpolished toenails, I love and embrace ALL OF IT.  Y’all gone take me how I give me to you!

Don’t like it?  Don’t care.  Bye.

Self Confidence on a Million

It takes a very confident person to walk into a yoga studio, bare arms and all, and do all the poses while looking in the mirror at their underarm hair.

That person is me.

There is a part of me that just dares someone to say something to me, but then there is a part of me that just doesn’t even care.  Will what they say make me change my appearance?  No.  So whatever they say is just whatever they say.

As with all that I’m doing these days, having this hair is very intentional.  I didn’t just forget to shave – naa, not this time.  I used to be lightweight self conscious about it until I asked myself why – why am I so insecure about having hair?  It’s natural.  At this time I am working on me – accepting ALL of me regardless of the circumstance, regardless of the hair.

Eventually I will cut it (maybe), but for right now I am just loving on me completely and being confident in my own skin.

Self Care

My self care today was listening to one of my favorite books on audible entitled “No Excuses! The Power of Self Discipline” by Brian Tracy.
