“I Have A Dream” – Vision Boards

Recently I have been entertaining the topic of  vision boards for the new year. A vision board is a way to visually display your goals, aspirations, affirmations, and what you want to have (tangibly or intangibly) in life.
A lot of vision boards appear to be similar to collages in that they are cutouts from magazines, newspapers, print outs, drawings, etc.  Vision boards provide clarity for your goals and helps to keep your focused because you see it daily.  They help clarify any abiguities in your goals by tacking on a vision for the said goals.  If you want to be a better person, what exactly does that look like to you?  Everyone has a different vision of what “being a better person” may look like, so what you add to your board may differ from that of someone else.

Here are a couple examples of some:

I have made vision boards in the past, but none as of late. I find that my visions change so frequently because my outlook on life changes as my life changes (if that makes sense) that I need to add more things constantly.  So if you’re anything like me, you might find more pleasure in making a vision board online instead of by hand.  Here, you can pinpoint pictures of things that interest you and make a board for it. I don’t dabble too much in physical vision boards and I would get tired of looking at the same thing for a whole year (I need variety, even if it reflects similar ideas – it’s all about perspective)!

The concept of vision boards is great of you need guidance and a way to keep yourself in check for your goals.  So go on, give it a try!

  1. I’ve always wanted to create a vision board for the creativity alone. Art is a great way to express your thoughts and feelings, especially for those who don’t like to sit & talk about their goals and dreams in an open forum like myself. Vision boards also serve as inspiration & motivation to work harder on your ultimate goal after a hard day and someone/something has pissed you off! lol Great post!
