Recently, I have been on a journey to find the best organic and natural products for me and my lifestyle. Unbeknownst of my journey at the time, I picked up the Alba Botanica Hawaiian Shampoo at TJ Maxx just to test out. I had just gotten my hair colored Honey Blonde and wanted my color to last. Per the bottle, this shampoo claims to contain “colorific plumeria for vibrant, lasting color” so I put it to the test. Did it meet my expectations? Find out below:

What does it do?

Directions:
Apply to wet hair and massage into a rich lather. Rinse thoroughly.
I used this on my hair, applying it first to my scalp and concentrating on removing whatever gunk I had on the scalp by massaging the product. It gave me a great lather!
Scent:
To me, it smells just like fresh flowers. If you aren’t into floral scents this is definitely not the product for you! It’s strong, but it’s very bearable. I actually encourage the wind to blow so I can smell my hair.
Consistency:
This isn’t a watery or overly thick consistency. It lays somewhere in the middle of that. It also isn’t sticky and is easy to apply and wash out.

(1) Certified Organic Ingredient | I noted in the video above that some of the ingredients were certified organic. In addition, there are no paragons, phthalates, artificial colors, sodium lauryl/laureth sulfate, or sodium myrrh sulfate.
Final Conclusions:
This shampoo could easily become a staple product for me. I have used it on my NEW hair color (as seen below) and my color is still amazing, my hair smells delightful, and this product impresses me even more because it isn’t tested on animals and uses 100% vegetarian ingredients.
In the picture, my hair is still wet, has been deep conditioned and is air drying with a leave-in. Also, I have washed my hair once before this with a different shampoo so my color is SLIGHTLY fading in the red tone (bummer), but I think this Alba Shampoo will help to keep the color from fading drastically. Glad I caught that slip up!
