Beauty: Gabriel & Zuzu Luxe Cosmetics (First Impression & Review)

I think I’ve found my holy grail organic and natural products, guys!  Though I’ve only been testing for months now (lol) I have recently revisited and introduced myself to some of my favorite cosmetics – Gabriel Cosmetics and Zuzu Luxe.  Now, these products are owned by the same company (Gabriel Cosmetics) but one is considered to be “luxury” – hence the name ZuZu Luxe.  Personally, I like them both and have been itching to share these with you guys!

What I Purchased
Gabriel Concealer in Medium ($15.20)
Gabriel Liquid Foundation in Golden Beige ($28.00)
Gabriel Dual Powder in Deep Beige ($26.35)
Gabriel Blush in Contour ($18.35)
ZuZu Luxe Oil Free Liquid Foundation in L-21 ($29.75)

Already Owned and Using
ZuZu Luxe Mineral Bronzer in D-28 ($28.30)
ZuZu Luxe Lipstick in Vegas ($18.15)
ZuZu Luxe Lipgloss in Dolce Vita ($18.15)

In my beginning blogging days, you may recall I explore with the ZuZu Luxe Oil Free Liquid Foundation and even wrote a review about it that can be found here.  A few weeks later, I also purchased the lipstick, lipgloss and bronzer and wrote reviews on those, too (click here for those).  My thoughts about those have not changed – in fact, I am wearing the lipstick here:

Now, the Gabriel side is new to me.  Before I purchased, I looked on their website and discovered a beauty chart that explains which colors would be best for each skin tone.  It helped with purchasing, but honestly going to the store and seeing them with your own two eyes, testing out the testers, and THEN making the purchase is even better.  I first purchased Classic Tan as my foundation color and it was incredibly dark – way too dark for my skin:

I ended up going back, purchasing the ZuZu Luxe in L-21 and Gabriel Golden Tan Liquid Foundations.  I use the ZL as my base and the Golden Tan as my highlight.  Before I apply my highlight, I may or may not use the concealer.  The concealer is very LIGHT in color, but thick in formula.  A little goes a long way and it can be toned down with the foundation (which is very buildable and won’t leave you cake faced).  Previously, when I used this concealer, I would just apply it without toning it down with foundation.  I’ve since learned what I like and it ain’t that!

Check out my video that may better explain my experience with each item, plus I demonstrate the application process:

Final Conclusions
I feel it is important to note I am wearing the products in all of these pictures posted and I am loving it!  These products are vegan and mineral based.  They are a bit pricey, but I will keep these as my staples and since I don’t wear makeup ALL the time it’s fine (and totally worth it).

  1. This makeup is great, and it looks so flawless on you. I don’t wear makeup but I am thinking to do so for the big 21!!!
