Self Love Project

Self Love Project 2018 | Day 17

Today’s Affirmation

All my plans turn out even better than expected.

It’s funny looking back at all the plans I made for my life to see some of them never come into fruition the way I thought they would.

When Your Plans Don’t Look Familiar

I remember starting this blog as a means to help my friends and family find products and gather style inspiration for their hair.  What I didn’t know is it would afford me so many opportunities.  From working with brands, meeting & friending some dope ass people, interviewing with awesome publications – it’s been done!  What better way to express my mind and share my creativity with the world than through creative content.

When I thought I would just teach teenagers in a classroom, I got a chance to teach thousands of women how to take care of, style, and love their natural hair all over the states and (catch this): IN 👏🏾 PARIS👏🏾 FRANCE 👏🏾.

I planned for the self love project to just be a way for me to inspire and encourage people to see the best in themselves by demonstrating how I love and care for myself.  I have received phone calls, texts, emails, messages – you name it, thanking me for doing this project, thanking me for having an open invitation to join.  Totally not expected, yet I accept that there are people waiting to love me (show me love and gratitude) and I allow them.

Grateful for ‘Failed Plans’

There are countless examples I could use, but I am OH SO THANKFUL that my little ass plans for my life turned out greater than I expected.  There is no way I would have planned this life for me to live, but here I am: living my best live.

And I don’t believe in “failed plans”. I believe what will be will be.

If life hasn’t taught me anything else, it is has taught me how to be flexible, how to lose and let go of people and situations that aren’t serving me, and how to trust God and His will for my life.

Letting Go and Letting God

My only request these days goes something like this: USE ME, LORD!  I know it is by His grace that I’ve come this far and by His grace that I will be sustained.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. – Jeremiah 29:11

Self Care

Today’s self care was diffusing my favorite oil while listening to some good music.
